Despite my versatile taste in fashion, I usually view any red carpet event as an event for showcasing the chicest and most elegant attires of the runway. Although I still find it challenging to remain unique and take risks on the red carpet (without going too far of course) I consider Met Gala to be one of the fewest red carpet events that are meant to reveal nothing BUT the most elegant designs of the runway.
Consequently, I couldn’t let this event pass without picking my best-dressed gowns of the event so here’s what I think.
Blake Lively’s dazzling Gucci gown is the kind of gown that leaves everyone speechless. I can only imagine how Ryan Reynolds could be both: proud and aware of every eye admiring his beautiful wife.
Arizona Muse simply made an alluring statement with her Ralph & Russo gown…. Definitely one of my favorites.
Sarah Jessica Parker
As always, SJP stunned the crowd in a dramatic Oscar de la Renta gown that had his signature printed on the tail of the skirt….Can it get any more luxurious?
Reese looked absolutely glamorous from head to toe in a hot pink Stella McCartney gown.
Along with her elegant red carpet looks, Amy Adams adds another regal look to her red carpet collection in a platinum Oscar de la Renta gown.
Hailee Steinfeld was one of the most attractive ladies who walked the red carpet at Met Gala. She made a spectacular impression in a dramatic monochrome Prabal Gurung gown.
KK looked incredibly august in a dramatic blue satin organza Marchesa gown with subtly handpainted white blossoms.
Charlize proved that she can add a twist of variance yet remain glamorous as ever in a monochrome strapless Gucci gown and a tuxedo jacket over her shoulders.
Anna kendrick successfully engraved her name in the best-dressed list with a simple monochrome grown by J Mendel.
Leighton Meester made a bohemian-meets-luxe statement on the red carpet in a fully embellished gown by Emilio Pucci.
As always, Rihanna didn’t disappoint us when she stepped out of the crowd in a white Stella McCartney attire. Somehow she brings me back to Princess of China; becoming one herself. _________________________________
Somehow Beyonce managed to make this nightgown inspired dress to look glamorous and elegant with a swipe of red-wine stained lipstick.
Taylor Swift looked completely classy and full-blown in an embroidered Oscar de la Renta gown.
Hayden Panettiere walked the red carpet with an astonishing impression, wearing a dramatic baby pink and blue gown by Dennis Basso.
As much as Emma Stone’s two-toned Thakoon gown is pretty simple, it is astoundingly eye catching.
Lily Aldridge radiated sexiness and glamor in a swank Michael Kors silver gown.
Dakota Johnson showed off her slim body in an imperial manner, donning in a midnight Jason Wu gown and complemented the whole look with opera gloves to complete the regal impression.
Zooey Deschanel chose to go simple yet stately in a regal blue and cream Tommy Hilfiger gown.
White has always been one of the preferable colors on the red carpet, specially when adorned with dandy detailing like the gown worn by Kylie Minogue.
Who would’ve thought that this posh red carpet gown is not a designer’s gown but simply a Topshop dress?
